  • Underlay
  • Profiles
  • Adhesives
  • Woca Care

Underlay

We recommend using a good quality underlay for all hard subfloors, whether they’re made of cement, wood substrate, ceramic or synthetic. You consequently increase the resilience of the floor, absorb indoor and footfall sound and level minor irregularities in the subfloor. We recommend that you use polythene over concrete subfloors in addition to underlay.

Profiles

It is important to complete your floor with the proper finishing touch. Whiteriver flooring profiles come in a variety of different styles and colours to help create a seamless and streamline look for your flooring surface. Choose from a selection of screw down and adhesive profiles in a range of 4 colours : Gold, Silver, Oak and Walnut.

Adhesives & Sealers

GRIP TIGHT 50 PRO PLUS is a single component elastomeric adhesive suitable for the glue down installation of Solid and Engineered Flooring. It is moisture resistant and remains flexible.  SEAL TIGHT 100 is a one component liquid damp-proofing membrane of concrete floors.  WHITERIVER PVA adhesive is fast cure, all purpose wood glue which dries clear and sets in 10 minutes.

WOCA Floor Care guides:

Natural Oiled Flooring
(Pre-oiled in factory)

A natural oil finish penetrates the timber pores as opposed to a lacquer finish which is a top surface coating. The oil finish is a low sheen matt finish and you will feel the grain of the timber. Your oiled floor should be maintained in an appropriate way as detailed below and this allows you to keep the natural look of the floor over the lifetime of the floor while also providing ongoing surface protection.

1: Immediately after installation
If the flooring has a dry appearance. Please see step 3 below. If the floor surface has a good initial level of oil protection, then we recommend an application of ready mixed Woca 750ml Oil Refresher as first treatment immediately after installation. This comes in a ready mixed 750ml spray can which can simply applied using a rectangular/square cotton cover mop. Regular cleaning thereafter is carried out Woca Soap.

2: Ongoing cleaning & care
Ongoing regular cleaning should be carried out using Woca Soap. These are mixed with water and applied with a well wrung out mop. Also available is 750ml DIY Ready Mixed Woca Soap which is pre-mixed and ready to use. This can simply be applied by rectangular/square mops a cotton cover and very much geared for DIY application.

N.B.: Woca Oil Refresher should be used in addition to Woca Soap in higher use areas e.g. kitchen, dining and living areas every 3-6 months to maintain a high level of protection on the floor surface.

3: Refreshing & restoring your floor
Residentially, the floor will need to be re-oiled every 1-4 years depending on the area and level of use. When the floor needs to be re-oiled, the floor should be first washed with Woca Wood Cleaner.

The following day a coat of either Woca Maintenance Oil is then applied by buffing machine. After 1 week, please follow above Step 2 recommendations for ongoing cleaning and care of your floor.

For natural oaks and darker wood floors, use natural finish products. For white/grey tone floors, use white finish products.

UV Oiled Flooring
(Prefinished in factory)

A UV Oiled finish is similar in many ways to a matt varnish as the oil is hardened under UV lights during the finishing process. Eventually the surface will wear down similar to a varnish.

1: Immediately after installation
Generally no treatment is required immediately after installation unless the floor has been left very dirty after works in the house. In this case, Woca Wood Cleaner can be used.

If the floor is fully sanded in the future, you have a range of re-finishing options available to you:

a: Natural oil
b: Hardwax oil
c: Lacquer/Varnish

For natural oaks and darker wood floors, use natural finish products. For white/grey tone floors, use white finish products.

Hardwax Oiled Flooring
(Prefinished in factory)

A hardwax oil finish does penetrate the timber pores but not as deeply as a natural oiled finish. There can be a slight silk sheen off the finish which will dull down over time. It has a slight more sealed feel to the surface than a natural oil finish. With a hardwax oil finish, it is important to use the recommended maintenance products for the flooring as it provides ongoing protection to the floor surface – essentially feeding the floor.

1: Immediately after installation
Generally no treatment is required immediately after installation unless the floor has been left very dirty after works in the house. For white/grey tone floors, we recommend applying a coat of Woca Oil Refresher White after installation.

2: Ongoing cleaning & care
